Over a hundred of different embroidery threads I initially organized in this binder.

Who can identify with getting more and more stuff and not being able to find anything back after a while?

This was so much the case with my embroidery threads. I very enthusiastically bought ~100 different pieces that I organized in an ordner. I thought it would be easy to find it back and i could place it in the bookshelf. But after a while it looked like in this picture. Not a good idea.

box with 100 cartons

I bought a box with 100 cartons on which i could wind each colour.

I thought I would do this “little” job while watching a movie one evening. I started and after that movie i only had ~22 of these done… Still a lot more to go. I tried out all kinds of tricks to do it easier and not to let it get tied up such as unwinding part of the original thread. It turned out that I had ~140 of these colours in total and it took me more than 3.5 minutes per thread…. So it took me lots of hours and I recommend spreading these out over many different occasions. I even got muscle strain in my hands and arms.

The result: 2 boxes well organized, very inviting to start a new project!

But finally, after many evenings and buying an additional box, I got it all done. Now it is so much easier and much more inviting to start a new project 🙂 so well worth it after all.
